Captain Jimmy Chestnutt, director general of Southampton and Fareham's Chamber of Commerce said: "This weekend will be a very good catalyst for local business.

Sally Lynskey, chief executive of Business Southampton said: "This event is expected to bring in thousands of people to the city to witness this spectacle and I applaud ABP for organising the dockCouncillor Royston Smith, Southampton's Cabinet member for economic development said the council estimated each cruise ship would generate 1.2m bringing this weekend's total to 10.8m.
The council has teamed up with Bluestar, First, Unilink and Black Velvet Travel to provide free bus travel within the city's boundaries until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
