Top 10 trends for spring
1. LIVING IN A DIGITAL AGE
Runway: The digital dress might sound scary to anyone who isn't six foot tall and eight stone, but it's more accessible than you think. A neutral blazer will balance out the print, and heels are a must for this. Take Dries Van Noten at London Fashion Week for example.
Real life: Our friends over at Sandro have been channeling digital print for more than two seasons now, and have it down to a T. Or in this case, louis vuitton femmes, a dress. For 225 at Brown Thomas.
2. URBAN JUNGLE
Runway: Our love affair for fashion knows no limits, and extends to the world of accessories. This snakeskin clutch during the Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week got us talking for all the right reasons.
Real life: Bangontrend buys straight to your door. Ah, the beauty of Littlewoods Ireland.
3. ALL WHITE ON THE NIGHT
Runway: The LWD (the little white dress for the unfamiliar) will become your ultimate wardrobe staple this summer. Balenciaga's fulllength versions at Paris Fashion Week had us drooling!
Real life: For your fashion fix, try this white cotton dress by NW3 at Hobbs for just 165. Corkscrew wedges will transition you from desk to dancefloor!
4. CHECK IT OUT
Runway: Welcome to the sixties! Louis Vuitton's showing at Paris Fashion Week was a blast from the past, with checkered patterns, dramatic eye makeup and the return of the box hat making us Twist and Shout.
Real life: We can't get enough of this patterned blazer by Isabel Marant at Brown Thomas. Sure, it's not exactly a steal, but we'll find a way to justify this cost. Think of all the chic suit options you'll have
Runway: Stella McCartney relied on monochrome to complete her Spring/Summer 2013 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Simplicity is key with this trend: keep your accessories to a minimum and let your clothing do the talking.
Real life: As much as we love Stella, we found this lookalike for a fraction of the price at Awear for 55. If you're feeling adventurous, throw on a waistdefining black belt and wear the highest heels you own.
6. IN BLOOM
Runway: Note to self: floral isn't going anywhere. Once again, Erdem led with the floral motif at London Fashion Week, and this highneck frock has taken our fancy.
Real life: This high street alternative, by Pied a Terre from House of Fraser has won us over! With this design, be bold and brave and accessorise with a chunky cobalt necklace and statement earrings.
7. SHEER BRILLIANCE
Runway: What's good enough for Chanel will always be good enough for us. Except for the oversized bag we need to draw a line somewhere! It's black. It's sheer. It's Chanel.
Real life: Penneys wins again! For just 13, you can snap up this sheer black sleeveless blouse with an embellished white peter pan collar. At this price, it's more than a bargain, it's a steal.
8. STUCK IN THE MIDI
Runway: Take a page out of Kate Middleton's book and keep it conservative and classy. With the Duchess of Cambridge and Dolce and Gabbana both encouraging a more modest skirt length, we can't help but get on board.
Real life: This print skirt by Betty Jackson, 45, from Debenhams, would look perfect with us a white blouse. Or a navy tshirt. Also, nude pumps. Sorry, we're getting carried away
9. SAVED BY THE BELL
Runway: Neon pink. Bell sleeves. Gucci. We've died and gone to fashion heaven. We're still talking about this statement dress from Milan Fashion Week.
Real life: We often question whether the buyers at Zara have made a deal with the devil due to their continually bangontrend, affordable finds. Heathenism aside, this canary yellow silk dress looks much more couture than it's price suggests.
